This scenic waterhole is located 45km south east of Geraldton in Greenough. Surrounded by giant gum trees and a rocky gorge, Ellendale Pool is a beautiful spot to enjoy a picnic or camping trip. Interpretive signs are around the area and celebrate the importance the pool has played in Aboriginal and European history. Public facilities and barbeques are available â so pack the snags and enjoy a great time out amongst nature!
Giant gums and rocky gorge surround the pool. If you are feeling energetic climb the rocky peak from the creek that flows from Ellendale Pool. Stop for a picnic lunch or stay the night at the camp site.
Toilet and barbecue facilities are on offer and camping is $10 per night and limited to three days. An honesty box has been provided. Ellendale Pool is about 45km south of Geraldton on Ellendale Road, via Walkaway. The last 100m of road are dirt but are suitable for 2WD vehicles and caravans.
Ellendale Pool is one of the recommended stops on the Greenough Tourist Drive.
A visit to nearby Greenough is also worthwhile to see numerous well preserved historic buildings within the town. Ellendale and Greenough are a perfect stopover on your way to the stateâs north.
